FALL Semester!

October 17, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I love fall! Especially here in Logan, it is so beautiful and I can’t believe that the semester is already half way done! I don’t feel like I have learned as much as I am supposed to be learning. But I am grateful for school and that I am able to attend a great school like Utah State. This semester I am taking Economics 2010, Math 1050, Creative Arts and Biology 101. For my creative arts class I have had to go to performances and write about them. So far I have really enjoyed them. My math professor is very amusing. I enjoy his lectures. Economics is really hard. I don’t have a lot of time to study the material (again!) and it is difficult to keep up. My Biology professor is also in the bishopric of my ward. I enjoy his classes too. So far it is a pretty easy class. They have Supplemental Instruction sessions for this class, but I don’t really need it. What I could really use is SI for Economics.

I am one of the Stake Extraction Co-Chairs and so far it is enjoyable. I am grateful to have a calling. It is such a blessing in my life. I love this Gospel and recently I asked a co-worker if she would like to listen to the missionaries. I have never done that before and it was a great experience! Even though she turned me down, I am so glad that I took the chance to invite her. I thought she would be rude about it, but she wasn’t! I was thrilled! It was exciting and I hope that I can get more opportunities to invite people to hear the good news of the gospel. :) It is fall break this weekend and I have been preparing a Sunday school lesson that I was asked to teach. I am not a regular teacher, I was randomly asked to fill in for the teachers who are gone this weekend. I loved preparing I just hope that I will be able to teach with confidence and how the Lord would have me teach, which is by the Spirit. The Spirit is the true teacher. I just hope that I can be an efficient instrument to help carry the message of the principles into the hearts of the students, including my own. :D

The Happiest Place on Earth…

June 25, 2009 · 1 Comment

…is NOT Disneyland as everyone presumes. But is actually Lagoon! Last Saturday was an eventful one. It started with the Summerfest. Mark and I walked around for a bit until it started raining, of course i didnt have a jacket :( After we left, we picked up free tickets to Lagoon and then went to Old Grist Mill for lunch before leaving Cache Valley for Lagoon. The weather was nice when we first arrived, but soon began to rain extensively throughout the day. We were soggy by the time it stopped around 7pm. But the good thing was that by that time, most of our fellow Lagoon-goers had left and so the lines to the coolest rides were short! :) it was the best. I wish I had taken my camera with me because Mark and I don’t have any good pictures together :( oh well.

I want to learn French.

June 18, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I want to learn to speak French. It has always been a language that is interesting, yet complicated to me. In my humanities class, we are learning about the French culture, which is both fascinating and slightly disturbing, mostly because there values are so different from mine. The things they believe bring them the most happiness is very different from my point of view. But I would love to go to Paris and see the museums and architecture, observe the fashion, and especially experience the dining and the food. The French eat very well, but they eat small portions. Which makes an incredible amount of sense. I would rather pay for high quality delicious food that is a small amount, than receiving a lot of food on my plate that is mediocre and leaves me feeling sick and bloated. I hate that. Of course, it is up to me to choose how much to eat, but part of it is not filling your plate full, or else get a smaller plate. Anyway, I am really enjoying this class so far. It is kinda weird to learn about a people’s habits and beliefs that are so different from mine, but nonetheless, very fascinating.
I love to learn. :)

Logan Summers

June 10, 2009 · Leave a Comment

This is my third summer here in Logan. I love it! The weather and the trees are the best. It can get pretty hot the end of June and July but I get used to it by august and september. I also love that it doesn’t snow here until about the end of november.
So far my summer has been great. Except for working so much that i have nightmares about work. But it has sorta died down a bit and i have been able to have more time to do homework and spend time with Mark. :)
I’m taking couple classes: Microeconomics 2010 and also Humanities (USU 1320). Micro is hard, more so because it is online, and i have a hard time motivating myself  to learn the concepts. The first couple days of humanities so far have been enjoyable. My professor is very knowledgeable. Her non-repetitive, extensive vocabulary and the clearness of her voice combine into most interesting lectures. I want to be able to have the intellect and speaking ability as she does.

I went to the doctor today because my wrist has been bothering me, i have tendonitis! :( no bueno…A month ago or so i had to go to the chiropractor because i hurt my neck on a blow-up jungle gym.
Hopefully i will be able to enjoy the rest of the summer pain free :)

Summer is here!

April 30, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Today I finished my last final! I only got 4 hours of sleep studying for it and I was almost late for it because I forgot to bring a pencil with me! It was a difficult semester but my hard work has definently paid off. So far I got a B- in Math 1010, an A- in Physical Science, and I am sure at least an A- in Sociology. :) I am excited for summer! New apartment, new schedule, new love, new goals, fun times and warm weather! I will definitely do better at writing more frequently, especially if I really want to become a better writer. :) I’ll keep you posted! Thanks for reading!

Happy Easter!

April 13, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I’m grateful for Easter :) I am so glad that i didnt have to work! I really enjoyed church, there were musical numbers and profound talks given on the Atonment and Resurrection. After church I ate lunch with my roommate Rachelle. She made a big lunch because her parents came up to hear her talk. I took a long nap after that. Then studied a bit before going over to me sister, Sherrie’s house to dye eggs and then eat them! :) hehe. I couldn’t stay long because I went to the Church to do extraction with Mark. From there we went to an Easter Cantata ( i think that is what it was) it was  musical performance with spoken word, put on by the community of Cache Valley. It was amazing. I am so grateful for my Savior. I found a really great quote. It is the First Presidency Easter Message:

At this Easter season of hope and renewal we testify of the glorious reality of the atonement and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. The empty tomb brought comforting assurance and provided the answer to the question of Job, “If a man die, shall he live again?” (Job 14:14).

Because of the Savior’s resurrection we will overcome death and become the beneficiaries of His mercy and grace. In a world of trouble and uncertainty, His peace fills our hearts and eases our minds. Jesus is in very deed “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

We give our sure witness that Jesus is the Christ. Though He was crucified, He rose triumphant from the tomb to our everlasting blessing and benefit. To each member of the human family He stands as our Advocate, our Savior, and our Friend.

He is my Savior and Friend :)

Happy Easter!

Bah! im workin on it.

December 15, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Today i filed FAFSA. arg! it was crazy. and frustrating.

Im trying to figure out how to pay for school. loans cost alot. i sure dont have any scholarships yet…though it is a goal of mine to achieve.

What i dont want to do, is to quit school to earn and “save for school.” I am soo sick of taking every other semester off!  i need to go to school and get  it done! :)

I definently dont want to be stuck being a server all my days. it is ok some days but 3 doubles a week is insane. I was dead by the end of last week. the only good thing was that i was able to make enough money to pay rent and my loan. :) which is awesome. now i just have to pay my phone bill and all will be well! until next month. then i have to start paying rent for an apartment im not even living in. bah!

sad i know..im workin on it!

:D

life is good.
